Terms of Service

These Terms of Service are a binding agreement between you and Field to Play ("we", "us"), an independent sports platform based in Lisbon, Portugal. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookie Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Field to Play.

1. What Field to Play is

Field to Play is an online platform that connects amateur athletes with facilities, teams, games, and content about the sports they follow. We operate as a booking intermediary between players and facility owners; we are not a facility operator ourselves. We do not supervise games, provide referees, or insure participants. You play at your own risk.

2. Eligibility and account

You must be at least 16 (or 13 with verifiable parental consent) to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and to be responsible for anything done under your account. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice in the case of fraud, harassment, or illegal activity.

3. Facility bookings

Each booking is a contract between you and the facility owner. Field to Play facilitates the transaction. During our launch phase no per-booking commission applies, paid plans may add platform fees described in the operator agreement. Cancellation and refund policies are set by the facility and shown at booking time. If a facility cancels or fails to deliver, we will refund you in full and work with the facility on compensation.

4. Pickup games and tournaments

When you create, join, or organise a pickup game or tournament, you agree to show up if you've committed, to respect the skill/age level described, and to follow the organiser's rules. Entry fees for tournaments are held in escrow by Stripe Connect until the tournament begins; if cancelled, refunds follow the organiser's stated policy minus payment processor fees.

5. User content

You retain ownership of everything you post, player profile data, team bios, comments, messages. By posting it on Field to Play, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it solely for the purpose of running the platform. Don't post anything unlawful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.

6. Acceptable behaviour

Harassment, threats, discrimination, doxxing, and hate speech will lead to immediate account removal. Fraudulent match results, fake reviews, and impersonation void any ratings or achievements on the offending account. Report misconduct via the in-app report flow or [email protected].

7. Premium subscription

Premium features are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. No partial refunds for unused time unless required by consumer protection law (14-day right of withdrawal for first-time buyers in the EU, per Directive 2011/83/EU).

8. Facility owner payouts

Facility owners receive bookings via Stripe Connect Express. Payouts arrive per Stripe's schedule (usually 2-7 days after the booking date). You are responsible for declaring income and paying any applicable taxes in your jurisdiction. Field to Play is required by Portuguese law to provide annual transaction summaries to the tax authorities.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Field to Play is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim any implied warranties to the extent permitted by law. Our total liability for any claim related to the platform is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) €100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or anything else that can't legally be limited under Portuguese consumer protection law.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page, your personal data follows the retention rules in the Privacy Policy. We can terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, your bookings already made are honoured or refunded per Section 3.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect product changes or legal obligations. Material changes are announced at least 30 days in advance by email and in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms; if you don't, stop using the platform and we'll delete your account.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, except where non-waivable consumer protection laws grant you jurisdiction in your country of residence. EU consumers can also use the Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
